Summer Camp

Young Scholars Academy sponsors several different summer camp programs for children ages 4-14. These programs are adjusted based on the age of the children. Summer Camps will have a unique blend of fun and interesting learning experiences. Each summer program is not only designed for specific ages but also for specific budgets. The summer programs provide a well-supervised experience. Parents are able to pick a summer program that fits their needs. . Enrichment classes are also included in your camp fee.
Summer Odyssey is adventure that features sporting events, rock climbing, bar-b-ques, and exploring Colorado Springs' natural and cultural worlds through art, music, and dance experiences. This camp is specially planned to be developmentally appropriate for elementary aged children in order to maximize their fun and learning. Space is limited to 28 campers so sign up early. By signing up for Odyssey you are also signing up for both two-week sessions of swim lessons. Summer Odyssey is scheduled to be out of the building between 9:00 am and 4:00 p.m. Before and after camp care is included in camp fees. From 8:00 am to 8:45 p.m. the campers will get a chance to try new experiences during enrichment classes. Each class last three weeks and they cover a variety of topics from sculpture to cooking to aerobics and many things in between.
Safari A is designed to introduce 4 year-olds to the camp experience and field trips. The children get the opportunity to explore local parks and area attractions. Field trips are planned weekly with the remainder of the time spent in the building participating in fun activities such as sprinkler day, arts and crafts, and team building activities. On field trip days, campers leave the building in the morning and return in time to eat lunch and have a rest time.
Safari B and Safari C are based on ages so that we may plan developmentally appropriate activities for everyone. Generally, Safari B is for our 5, 6, and 7 year olds while Safari C is for campers that are 8 years and older. Both camps will get an opportunity to explore local parks and area attractions, as well as, participate in community open swims. Field trips are planned for each camp Three days a week primarily as half-day trips. When in the building the campers have an opportunity to participate in fun activities including but not limited to team building, arts and crafts, problem solving activities and science experiments and much, much more. |
