Preschool Program

At approximately 2 ½ years of age, a unique period of growth happens. A rapid increase in the ability to learn concepts and skills starts to occur. For this group, the capacity of verbal language is multiplying at an accelerating pace. Children of this age respond to intriguing critical thinking activities and are delighted when they complete a task successfully.

Learning centers provide developmental emphasis through hands-on discovery experiences. The Child Development Specialists provide activities that are designed to compliment age-appropriate skills. The “Learning Centers” at
Young Scholars Academy are well-equipped areas of special age appropriate activities. These centers are also set up to be theme based to follow our school year scope and sequence. They include:

The climber provides children with learning experiences that Child Development Specialists can not teach them. Using the climber also promotes friendships and social interaction, as well as, the gross motor skills. The climber has a ten-foot fall zone around to protect the child while allowing them to perfect gross motor skills.
