Junior Kindergarten

Young Scholars Academy provides a program for children that missed the cut off date for Kindergarten. This program furthers their education, social, and emotional growth. Junior Kindergarten meets this important need by assessing the children in class and tailoring the curriculum to the individual needs of the children in the class. Our Junior Kindergarten program provides a slightly more structured environment to help children transition from Junior Kindergarten to Kindergarten.

Pre-reading and pre-writing activities are further developed. Circle time is a bit longer to increase attention span. Interactive stories are read and discussed daily. Positive social and emotional skills are reinforced. Children are encouraged to use conflict resolution with peers.
